The Kashmir Move
The first budget session of 17 Lok sabha marks many great events in parliament and passed the record number of bills. A bill was introduced in Rajya sabha to change the status of Jammu & Kashmir and reorganization of the state.
The bill which abrogates some section of Article 370 which gives the special right to state and Article 35A which guarantees some special right only to the citizen of the state.
Supporting claims of abrogation
The call to end the special category of Jammu & Kashmir is very old as it was temporary provision granted to the state by its constituent assembly and Indian constitution framers. It was agreed in the instrument of accession signed by then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and ruler of the state Hari Singh when Pakistan attacked the state and India helped the state. The provision agree on terms of special power, then constituent assembly of state decided to give only limited hand to central government, except external relations, defense, Communication state reserve every matter within its ambit and center has no power to make laws on matter in concurrent list and center laws were applicable only legislative assembly passes it in state assembly. J&K have their state constituion and state flag, these all provision going to end when President sign the bill and make it an Act.
The argument put in favor were the growth of terrorism, less development, poverty, nepotism in politics, youth changing their track so on and so forth.
Aftermath impact and changes
The structure of state changes as it organized into two union territories, one Jammu & Kashmir with legislatures like that of Delhi and Puducherry, two Ladakh without legislature. This gives center huge power of the state. The by-product of this is handling the issue of Jammu and Kashmir with china and Pakistan separately. As the border conflict with both is now different and distant part, this is in favor of India to take the issue of Aksai chin and POK forward.
The real problem is keeping the valley normal and taking the residents thereof in confidence. People are familiar with state laws and taking all this away and implementing mammoth new central law is challenging for the government. Bringin political stability in the state when the structure is changed is a tough job, especially because the political class of state is not ready to accept it anyhow, they might ignite people to protest strongly against change.
Expectation of country
Every citizen of the country is in hope for good to come to the country and state of Jammu and Kashmir.
We as a citizen expecting that the country is united from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and make India “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat” Development of state must be a priority for the government as it is very strong point raised against Article 370. Alleviation of poverty, development of infrastructure, creating youth of state as the asset for the country by education and training, providing the benefit of central schemes and central sponsored scheme to every citizen of the state. People should make aware of their rights in the constitution like the Right to education, Right to vote, etc.
Development of state with people-centric work and keeping in mind the specialty of the state. Boosting tourism with safe heaven in the Kashmir in the spirit of brotherhood in the direction of making heaven of earth more beautiful with ease of leaving for people.
