Paradox of Job Creation

Paradox of Job Creation

EducationGeneral
January 19, 2020

Unemployment is 45 years high as per the last year’s published NSSO data. There is no doubt in it that employment generation in our country is in the slowest pace but the contradicting situation is all the recruitment board and private entity state that they did not get the talent according to their expectation and they are not able to fulfill their demand of skillful and talented workforce from the market. This is a paradoxical situation when a large crowd of youth vying for the job and the employer looking for talent but in a different direction.

To start I would like to take you to the past when the early humans have no idea of cloth fire wheel and many modern instruments we see today with the passage of time they keep on adoption to the demand and by making necessary changes in their lifestyle we are in the 21@20 ( 21 Century at 20 years). Is our old knowledge and skill is helpful in this machine age where perfection is the key to drive growth and cut-throat competition? Certainly NOT…

A gap in demand/Need

This situation can be relatable to a situation where one is running for water and the other having water is keen to serve it but on certain conditions and both keep on wandering. It is clear now that there is a gap in demand and supply where the employer needs a skillful and compatible person for the required situation and modern machinery to meet its work target but there is no such product on the supply side. A person in need of a job has the proper qualification and endeavor to deliver its best potential is not able to meet the criteria due to changing patterns and same academic theory-based learning. There is no need to quote an example here as you can see around the condition of people having a professional degree and their job. They are not interested in doing that job but have to do it as they have no option.

Declare four sided war…

Everyone can be held responsible for this right from government, parents, education system, employer, the person itself and all the intangible forces. So what have to do? keep playing the blame game or act? Certainly, action can only win the race. The system needs overhaul and changes according to 21-century keeping in mind the future challenges and requirements also.

Government is the driver in it in framing the education curriculum, training based learning emphasizes on human capital formation and many more. If I write about government contribution it is very vast but my focus is on how we can create a path for ourselves, So ignoring all jump to the human itself.

To move up the ladder you have to move your feet up then only you can climb the plinth of the mountain. One has to look into its skill and the demand in the market and then plan according to it. During our education phase, we keep on enjoying our life in the name that we have only one life and so I have to do “everything”. Does “everything” include your career also?  When we have ample opportunity to learn and develop ourselves we lose that opportunity and remember opportunity will knock your door always so you have to grab every single opportunity. In other words, do your best to learn best from everything possible. This is the machine age and if you do not update yourself according to the machine you will lose the game. What is the benefit of this? Yes, you can able to meet the condition that the market demands from you. One needs to understand it clearly your learning and updations are a continuous process.

There is a shortage of talent in the market, not the job opportunity you have to just frame your self according to the demand. This is the condition of every field be it is software, machine/hardware, entrepreneurship, businessman and professionals. To excel in your field and achieve the height of success you have to work hard in your skill-building,

Best Wishes

Happy New year 2020

I think that education system needs to be bit more flexible and fast.We need to focus to build the tendency of doing and experimenting. We need to be taught how to apply what we have learn.

Since the unemployment is very high and is urgent need to be address…..but one should not forget that most of our youth choose to be unemployed for sake of higher level opportunity (according to them)..also counted as unemployed (voluntary unemployment). The data taken into consideration doesn’t take this factor into concern.
Otherwise good effort..keep it up 👍

I think we should change our education system from more theoretical to more practical. This will help in increasing self employment.
